The Bands first camed about in August of 1997, out of the ashes of Cameron and Phil’s previous band „The Cameron’s“. After the Cameron’s final show, they called upon their old friend Adam (who incidentally played with Phil & Cameron in 1994 in the local punk outfit „StinkBug“) and Mereck to form TORONTOS NEWEST Oi! Band „The Rabble-Rousers“. Shortly after their birth, they were playing gigs with the city’s punk icons „Armed & Hammered“. In addition they played the ARA’s 25th anniversary party in front of a crowed of over 7000. Their spectacular performance was duly noted by a local university paper in which they described The RR as playing an energetic Set. Although they played a benefit show for the ARA, „The Rabble-Rousers“ are an apolitical band, describing themselves as musicians and not politicians. In their melodic tunes they mainly sing about various aspects of the Skinhead subculture, drawing on bands such as the Ejected, Cock Sparrer and Oxymoron as a musical influences. They have also three other songs on „Oi!....it’s Streetpunk! Vol. 2“ V/A CD. The way the streets ought to sound is their debut EP with four songs. One of Torontos finest Bands. For 1999 is a Full length planned. 100 copies of this EP are in red Vinyl |
